Economics

Choose a subject

We believe Economics develops global citizens who can understand their role in society and the interconnected relationships between consumers, firms and governments.

In our curriculum, students develop knowledge and understanding of both micro and macroeconomic principles. In microeconomics, students use economic models to understand the decisions made by firms within the market structure that they operate and the industry that they are in. Students use these microeconomic concepts to develop an understanding of the macroeconomy. Exploration of current and recent historical governmental policies contextualise theory and enable students to critically analyse the assumptions that economic models are based upon. Through discussion, students consider challenging questions applying economic models to a variety of real-world issues.
